About QuizMwa
QuizMwa is a revision app for Mauritian pupils in Grades 5 and 6, covering Science and History & Geography for the PSAC. It was built in Mauritius, for the Mauritian syllabus, by people who could not find what they wanted for their own children.
Why it exists
Revision at this age usually means a past paper and a red pen. That tells a child their score and almost nothing else. Every question here is marked as you go and every answer comes with a short explanation, so a wrong answer teaches something rather than just costing a mark — and the app keeps track of which topics are worth going back to.
What is in it
- Questions for every topic in Science and History & Geography, at both grades, in the order your textbook covers them.
- A short explanation after every answer, with the part of the book it came from.
- A timed practice paper, assembled fresh each time, following the MES format.
- A progress board that shows the direction rather than a single score, and names the topics to revise next.
Miss Pikpik
The bird is a Mauritius Olive White-eye, the pikpik. It lives on this island and nowhere else on earth, there are only a few hundred of them left, and it seemed like the right companion for a child learning about their own country.
Who writes the questions
We do. They follow the MIE national textbooks and the way the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate actually asks things, but QuizMwa is independent: not affiliated with, endorsed by or produced by the MIE, the MES or the Ministry of Education. No question here is a past paper question, and scores in this app are practice scores.
If something looks wrong in a question, tell us on the contact page and we will correct it.
